Stack Trace Parser

This tool parses Node.js/V8 stack traces, Python tracebacks, Java/JVM stack traces, and generic error.stack formats. It extracts file paths, line numbers, function names, and highlights the most relevant frames.

When JavaScript code runs inside an anonymous function (like an arrow function or IIFE without a name), the stack trace shows '<anonymous>' or similar. This is common with callbacks and closures. Naming your functions helps produce more readable stack traces.

Node.js internal frames come from the Node.js runtime itself (e.g., internal/modules/cjs/loader.js). These are usually not the source of your bug. This tool marks them as 'internal' so you can focus on your application code.

This means code is executing at the top level of a module (not inside a named function). It's the module's main script body. The file path next to it points to the exact module file.

Use new Error().stack to capture the current stack trace as a string, or console.trace() to print it. In try/catch blocks, err.stack contains the full trace from where the error was thrown.
