} Frequently Asked Questions
What is Zod and why use it?▼
Zod is a TypeScript-first schema validation library. Define your data shape once and get static TypeScript types inferred automatically. Use it to validate API responses, form inputs, environment variables, and more — with runtime safety and zero extra type annotations.
What JSON Schema features are supported?▼
This tool supports common JSON Schema features: string, number, integer, boolean, null, object, array, enum, required fields, optional properties, min/maxLength, min/maxItems, minimum/maximum, and $ref for named schemas.
What does this converter NOT support?▼
Complex JSON Schema features like $defs/$ref lookups across files, allOf/anyOf/oneOf (partial support), if/then/else, and advanced formats (email, uri) are simplified or skipped. For production use, consider json-schema-to-zod npm package.
How do I use the generated Zod schema?▼
Install Zod: npm install zod. Import and use: import { z } from 'zod'; then paste the generated schema. Call YourSchema.parse(data) to validate and get typed output, or YourSchema.safeParse(data) for non-throwing validation.
